What we see most
The usual suspects
Nine out of ten machines on our bench are one of these. None of them mean your PC is finished.
It will not start
Dead at the button, boot loops, or fine until it is under load. Usually the power supply, the memory, or a motherboard that has taken a knock — and it is usually cheaper than people fear.
It sounds like a jet
Fans flat out and performance dropping means heat. Dust, dried thermal paste, a failing cooler or a case with nowhere for air to go. A clean and re-paste often gives back frames you thought the machine had lost.
Crashes and artefacts
Coloured flecks, drivers falling over, crashes to desktop mid-game. We test the card in isolation so you find out whether it is the card, the power supply or the software before you spend anything.
Slow, but not broken
Old spinning drive, not enough memory, or Windows buried under years of clutter. An NVMe drive and a memory bump is the cheapest big upgrade in computing.
Not fast enough any more
New game, old card. We will tell you what your current power supply and processor can actually carry, so you do not buy a card the rest of the machine cannot use.
Liquid, lightning, or a fall
Surge damage and physical knocks are worth assessing before you write the machine off — drives usually survive, and your files are the part you cannot replace.

Repaired, retested under load, and explained to you in plain English when you pick it up.

DPD collect & return — €25, anywhere in Ireland
Book it online and DPD calls to your door the next working day. Your PC or laptop comes to the bench for the free initial assessment and a written quote before any work — then DPD brings it back. You do not organise couriers or labels; the €25 covers both legs.
- Book — pay €25 at checkout and tell us what is wrong in the order notes.
- Box it — tower or laptop only, power cable in. We email a DPD label and the collection day.
- Bench — free initial assessment, written quote, deeper diagnostics quoted upfront. You decide.
- Back to you — repaired, retested under load, and returned by DPD to the same address.
Collection is from any address in the Republic of Ireland, Monday to Friday. Pack the machine in its original box if you still have it; if not, ring us and we will tell you how to pack it so it survives the courier. The €25 is the courier fee only — the assessment is free and any repair is quoted before we start.
What to send
- The tower or the laptop — not the monitor, keyboard or mouse unless the fault involves them.
- The power cable / charger.
- Your Windows password on a note inside, if you know it. It saves a phone call.
- Anything you have already tried, written down.
Businesses: we can collect from a reception or a site office — put the contact name in the notes.
Upgrades
Spend it where it shows
Most machines do not need replacing. They need one part changed — and it is rarely the part people expect.
- Graphics card — the frame-rate lever, once we have checked your power supply can feed it.
- NVMe storage — the upgrade people notice most, every single day, for the least money.
- Memory — 16GB is the floor for modern games; 32GB if you stream or edit alongside.
- Cooling — a cooler that keeps up stops the processor quietly throttling itself.
- Power supply — the part nobody thinks about until it takes something else with it.
